Travel Planner Tool Guide
It's exciting to plan a trip, but it can be overwhelming to decide where to go.
Should you explore the mountains of Switzerland, unwind on the beaches of Bali, or take in the nightlife and culture of Thailand? Using a weighted scoring system, our Travel Planner Tool allows you to compare destinations side by side. Rather than speculating, you will base your choice on data and the things that are most important to you, such as activities, safety, weather, and budget.
Here's a step-by-step guide to using it.
For comparison, add up to three travel destinations.
- Enter the name of the destinations (such as "Bali", "Switzerland" or "Thailand").
- You can compare up to three destinations but you have to add at least two travel destinations for comparison.
- Use clear names of cities or contries you wish to visit.
Four important criteria are used to evaluate each destination. You'll assign each one a score:
- Budget (Travel Expense):
Enter the approximate total cost of the trip in Rupees (₹).
Example: ₹70,000 for Thailand, ₹150,000 for Switzerland, and ₹50,000 for Bali.
Since you want affordability, lower is preferable.
- Weather (Comfort & Climate):
Give it a comfort rating of 1–10.
Example: Switzerland in the summer is a 9/10, and Bali in March is a 7/10.
- Activities (Things to Do):
Variety scores range from 1 to 10.
Example: Switzerland (skiing, hiking) = 9/10, and Bali (surfing, temples) = 8/10.
- Safety (Tourist Security):
Give a score between 1 and 10 for your peace of mind.
Example: Thailand is a 7 out of 10, while Switzerland is a 9 out of 10.
Not all factor is equally important. Weights are useful in this situation:
- Budget: Excellent for tourists, families, or students on a limited budget.
- Weather: This is an important criteria if you are searching for seasonal beauty or comfort.
- Activities: Foodies, adventurers, and cultural explorers will like this.
- Safety: This is a must for needed for families, solo travellers, and peoples who are going on vacation for the first time.
- You can change the weight of each criteria to fit your needs. For example: If you're travelling alone, you could give Safety an 80 out of 100. If you're going backpacking with friends, money and things to do might be more important to you.
Once you add destinations, rate them, and set weights, the tool provides you a final normalized score.
- The option with the highest score is indicated by a "Recommended" badge.
- This helps you figure out why one place is better than another.
Friends, family or travel agent are frequently involved in the travel planning.
