Using a weighted scoring system, our Career Decision Tool allows you to compare career options side by side and make an informed decision based on your goals, lifestyle, and skill set.
To begin, enter up to three job opportunity for comparison.
- Enter the title of each job opportunity such as "Google SWE", "Startup Dev", "Freelancer".
- You can enter up to three options but you must have to add at least two options for comparison.
- Give each role a name that clear, memorable and easy to understand.
Each career is evaluated using four primary criteria.
- Salary Potential:
Enter the expected average salary in rupees.
Example: A software developer have 8 LPA, a degital marketer have 6 LPA and a graphic designer have 5 LPA.
- Job Security & Growth:
Give rate 1 - 10 on future demandable job based on long term stability.
Example: Growing demand frequently results in higher scores for tech roles.
- Worklife Balance:
Score range from 1 to 10 according to lifestyle fit, worked hours and flexibility.
Example: If you prefer remote job then jobs that allows for remote work might receive higher rating.
- Personal Interest & Passion:
Rate 1 to 10 on how much you excites or motivates by your career.
Example: Graphic design may receive 9 out of 10 if you enjoy being creative.
Different people value different things in their career. With our weighted system, you can customize importance:
- Salary: High weight if your main goal is financial growth.
- Job Security: If you want long term stability then this is important criteria.
- Work-life Balance: This is perfect if you give value to your family and personal time.
- Passion/Interest: If you value your passion over financial gain then passion and interest are crutial.
- Examples: You might give more importants on salary and growth if you're just starting out. If you're planning a family oriented life style may improve job security and work-life balance. You may place a higher value on passion, if you're changing career in your mid-life.
Once your weights and ratings have been entered:
- For every career option, the tool calculates a normalized score between 0 to 100.
- The career with the highest score is marked as "Recommended".
Selecting a career frequently involves consulting with friends, family, or mentors. You could:
